Sunset Hotel Kisumu

Mfangano Island Camp
Mfangano is located on the un spoilt island of Mfangano in Lake Victoria that occupies an entire secluded bay on the western shores of the island. It is only 40 minutes charter flight from the Masai Mara and is accessed via a 15 minute boat ride along the tropical shore line. The camp is situated under ancient fig trees right by the lake shore. Accommodation within the camp is in six rooms all with stunning views of the lake and offer complete privacy, en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, basin and flush toilet as well as hot and cold running water. The rooms are decorated in the ethnic style and have four poster beds and private verandas. Each room is open to the lake and offers uninterrupted views and spectacular sunsets. Lokitela Farm House, Mt. Elgon
Located 19 kms west of Kitale town on the foothills of Mount Elgon. Mt Elgon, the largest but not the highest mountain in Africa. Accommodation is in two twin rooms with ensuite facilities and a family annex.  The Farm consists of 874 acres of mixed farming at the foothills of Mount Elgon and there are over 70 acres of natural forest in which the birds are many and varied. Hosted by Tony and Adrianne Mills, guests enjoy traditional Kenya farm hospitality, the emphasis being on friendship and informality and guests are encouraged to take part in all aspects of farm life. Mt. Elgon Lodge
Mt. Elgon is the second highest mountain in Kenya. It is 15 million years old compared with the youthful Mt. Kilimanjaro (1 million years old), the staggering age of Elgon becomes apparent. Millions of years of erosion have worn down the massif, which is thought to have once towered over all other African mountains. It is also one of the most impressive, with vast areas of untouched forest concealing over 400 elephants whose most famous gathering place is in the bat filled Kitum Cave to which they troop nightly to forage for salt encrusted on the cave walls. Only 500 m from the gate on the slopes of Mt. Elgon the Mt. Elgon Lodge is situated allowing a panoramic view over the land below. The lodge is an old farm house converted into a simple, charming lodge with 14 ensuite rooms. The main building is a reminder of the colonial day passed by.
Rondo Retreat Kakamega Forest
Rondo Retreat is a tranquil centre within the Kakamega Rain Forest is an ideal home away from home to pursue your hobbies as a butterfly collector, beetle specialist, frog fancier, spider hunter, tourist or bird watcher. Among the vast array of birds, the Kakamega Rain Forest is home to the flamboyant Great Blue Turaco, gemlike Emerald Cuckoo and the cacophonous Black-and-white casqued Hornbill. From the monkey family the blue Sykes, the red tailed, the common Black and White Columbus, and the rare deBrazza’s can be seen here. There are fifteen en-suite double rooms within the retreat, plus three more double rooms that share the large original bathroom in the main house. No two rooms are the same. The bedrooms, sitting rooms and dining room have all been decorated and furnished with flair using things “old and new” – antique prints and photographs, and local paintings, crafts and fabrics.
